After a series of interactive material investigations, Amuneal was able to land on the perfect finish for the client. In fact, when processing the actual panels for the showroom, the client’s Creative Director spent the day with us, watching the process and celebrating its success. These types of projects are testaments to the truly open and collaborative approach that has defined Amuneal’s working style and has deepened the connection with our partners.
One of the major features of the showroom is a series of large-scale mobile display fixtures. Combining glass, a custom woven mesh, and a hand-applied bronze patina, these units have integral standards that allow for adjustable shelves, hang bars and face-outs. These highly engineered units have more than 100 individual components that integrate seamlessly into the final product.
One of the challenges on this project was to integrate a material that would reference both the precision craft and the rich fabrics that epitomize the Façonnable brand. As a final solution, Amuneal had a custom woven steel mesh created that was cut to length and welded into frames. These welded assemblies were then layered with bronze and patinated to a deep finish with golden undertones.
When working with a brand like Façonnable, the details are everything. These wall panels were created from a series of custom fabricated standards that resulted in a profile slimmer than is commercially available and provided a 1/8” reveal between the metal standards and the fabric panels. To support the functionality of the display panels, Amuneal worked with the architect to develop a series of standard display hardware. Once these panels had been installed and used in the showroom, the lessons learned were applied to the following roll-out of freestanding locations.
