Amuneal worked with the design team to develop a digital fabrication approach to these fabric-inspired wood walls. This collaboration streamlined the engineering, and allowed us to shift our focus to the fabrication and installation of 120 linear feet of these 5-axis carved decorative panels.
Originally envisioned in solid walnut, the proposal was rejected by the hospital due to concerns regarding cleaning and long-term durability. In the end we developed a thermoformed laminate solution that gave both the hospital and the designers the look and durability that the project required.
